The TYPEWRITER Authentication and Certification Exercise (ACX), held in Stockholm and at the Swedish Defence Research Agency facility at Grindsjön from May 20-24, 2024, was the third exercise leading up to the Field Exercise (FX) conducted at Sandia National Laboratories, Albuquerque in September the same year. The overarching goal of the ACX was to promote the authentication and certification aspects of nuclear disarmament verification, making them an integral part of TYPEWRITER.
A primary aim of the ACX was to prepare the TYPEWRITER Inspector Team, enabling them to perform post-use authentication of Monitoring System equipment during the upcoming FX; this linked the ACX activities to the Field Exercise. To achieve this, the ACX was designed around three activities.
